The government is devising a comprehensive strategy, not only to bridge the supply-demand gap but to overcome energy challenges. This was stated by Federal Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi while speaking at Pakistan Textile Exporters Association’s annual meeting.

The Federal Minister added that the government is fully aware of the issues hindering textile sector growth. Energy crisis is the major hurdle and without tackling this textile industry cannot gain momentum.

The Federal Minister assured that the textile ministry would make all out  efforts for the immediate payment of the pending refund claims of textile exporters. All stake holders would be taken on board while formulating policies directly or indirectly influencing textile industry especially its value addition sector.

Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar was also present at the occasion. The governor reiterated that the government would extend its full support and assistance to the textile sector, leaving no stone unturned to put it back on track. PTEA chairman Sohail Pasha presented the annual report of the association and apprised the Federal Minister of the issues faced by the textile sector.
